TIPE MATERIAL ORGANIK SERPIH PADA FORMASI GADING
Keywords:Gading Formation, Shale, Maceral
Petroleum is one of the energy sources that are needed today because it is the main ingredient in the industrial sector. However, petroleum has a limited amount because the formation process is very long. So it is necessary to search for new oil reserves to meet the needs of the community. Petroleum exploration requires various analyzes, one of which is geochemical analysis of the source rock. The Gunung Terang area, Bulok District, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung revealed black shale in the ivory formation which is estimated to be the source rock in the inter-volcanic basin of Lampung. This study aims to determine the type of organic material in the shale of the Gading Formation. This study uses a geochemical analysis with the method of measuring data on a transmitted microscope in identifying the amount and composition of maceral in the sample. From the results of measurements using a microscope on flakes, it was obtained that sample 1 was composed of Fluorescentrescent Amorph 17.5%, liptinite maceral in the form of cuticles 7%, spores 8.5%, resin 18.5%, Non Fluorescent amorph 28.5%, vitrinite maceral 18.5%, and maceral inertinite 1.5%. The maceral composition of the shale shows that sample 1 has a total of 51.5% Oil Prone Kerogen, 47% Gas Prone Kerogen, 1.5% Inertinite which characterizes as type I/II kerogen with the potential to produce oil. With maceral composition in the form of tall plants, namely spores, cuticles, resin, it indicates a lacustrine or lake depositional environment.
