PERANCANGAN TRAFFIC LIGHT BERBASIS TEKNOLOGI ZIGBEE 2,4GHZ

Users of transportations especially private vehicles in Indonesia from year to year has increased because the gorverment has not imposed the restrictions. The impact of that can be perceived with the traffic jams of highways anytime particulary in large cities. One way to slove the problem is setting a system of traffic light on crossroads. Where on the points of congestion and accident occurs if not available traffic control tools.

The purpose of this research to develop a system of traffic light with a wireless medium use ZigBee wireless technology. The design of traffic light using ZigBee series Xbee 1mW wire antenna which appropriate used for outdoor needs. Xbee is working on 3,3VDC with idle/receive current 50 mA. For building prototype design, power for each traffic light devices will use power from battery. This design will also use Atmega8535 microcontoller as a main controller. A system would be made expected not only to save the use of electrical power but also to reduce global warming.
